Today, week nine, we worked on our visual presentation. After Kio showed us the new presentation style, we decided to create a new one, with only pictures, in addition to our previous presentation. We also added to our bibliography, and Samantha worked on writing her interviews. We also posed for some more exercise pictures. Today we got a lot done, and are almost ready to present!

This week we typed up the interviews that we took on Friday when we traveled to UNE with Kirsten Buchanan. We continued to work on the presentation, learning about the risk of female injuries. We also found that many of the people who injure their ACL have not taken previous exercises. Meanwhile, 6 out of 7 of the people that we interviewed got hurt in non contact situations. Right now we have almost finished our website and our slideshow. Our goal is to also present to Grade 7 to showcase the work that we have done.

This week we have accomplished many different parts of our project. We have discussed our final presentation as a group, and have come to the conclusion of creating a presentation to show the grade and also showing the health-sciences teachers in hopes of changing the warm-ups. The new warm-ups consist of a group of warm-ups we used in our studies with UNE. Next week we hope to complete our slideshow and finish our table of exercises. We also are going to write an essay about what we have learned to resemble our conclusion.

This week February 22, 2016 we started thinking about finishing up our project by the end of the trimester. Today we made a form that allows us to go to the University of New England by getting parent signatures and a school administrator signature. Also, our essay proposal that we are presenting to the gym teachers is almost done. Furthermore, we continued writing notecards to put on our website.

This week we have made great progress. We have started to write our proposal to the gym teachers at HMS by combining our different research paragraphs. We finished organizing our noodle tools documents, and created questions for our trip to UNE. Furthermore, we added more links onto our WIX website stating "What the ACL is?" and informing people about the amazing workout Fifa 11+. Also, we continued to create more exercises to put on the workout. Finally, we have started to come up with a plan on going to UNE after February break.

What did you accomplish today?
We had an interview with Kirsten Buchanan. She gave us really great information on how these exersices help to improve the anterior crucial ligament. Also, we got some really great insight on the pros and cons of getting surgery and waiting. We continued to write our proposal and we found a really great website called FIFA 11+.
Where are you at in your notetaking process at this point?
Right now we have already made a notecard on what the ACL is. And, we are taking notes on the FIFA 11+ website to give more information on the organization.
How much longer will you need for your research?
Right now we think that we can finish our middle school workout in the next few weeks. In the next trimester we want to pursue this topic and try to present the workout to the highschool and the elementary school.
What challenges are you facing?

Week 3 Reflections:
During the course of the past 3 weeks we have made an anterior cruciate ligament(acl) prevention website. The website includes an acl focused workout and information on this topic, including logistics on the injuries, and what the anterior cruciate ligament is(acl.) Also, we went outside and photographed each other doing the exercises to set an example. Furthermore, we have been emailing with the Assistant Clinical Professor of the University of New England. We are hoping that in the next week we will have a meeting and learn more information on this topic. Our hope is too propose a group of workouts to the Yarmouth School District so that we can bring this important topic to their attention. In the next few weeks our group wants to go to UNE to interview some students that have experienced this injury in the past. And, too get more information on our workout. Meanwhile, we have been using the graphic organizer to record our dot jots which answer our guiding questions. After this is completed we want to turn these notes into a proposal in the form of an essay. This is such an enticing subject! And, we can't wait to learn more!
